{Whatcha Working on Wednesday}

As grumpy as it makes me to say, I still am working on the two projects which I had wanted to finish up at the start of last week. Unfortunately both have taken considerably longer than I would have thought.

The first is my Raleigh restoration, not a sewing project, but was high on my list of things to get done whilst on leave, so still counts.

 

I'll go into detail when I show you the finished project (if I ever do finish it), but I am at the stage now where I honestly abhor that bicycle and just want the whole experience to be over with.

The second project is this pattern, I am just using the skirt portion of it, with view to maybe make the complete dress in the future.

 

The fabric I am using is the blue and white printed stripe below. It has being a slow going project for a few reasons:

• Pattern adjustments
• Me obsessing over every detail (the seam you see below, unpicked, it is 1-1.5mm off in the stripe matching, which is just unacceptable, I would look at it every time I put it on an berate myself for my sloppiness!)
• A lot of hand sewing, which I am very very slow at

For now all sewing is on hold until that damn bicycle is finished, after all, more of my 2012 plans are hinging on having a bicycle than they are a new skirt (grown up aren't I, prioritising like that); it is however kind of infuriating because I literally only have to sew on the belt carriers and I am done. The phrase so close yet so far seems to pop into my head often at the moment...

Anyway, are you guys working on any projects? Sewing or otherwise?
