{pattern destash - help!}

I recently read Sherry's post about her haul of vintage patterns, in it she mentions Academy Patterns, which are a brand I have seen 'wandering the halls' in the blogosphere, but like Sherry, never realised they were in fact made here in New Zealand either.

This peaked my curiosity too, and I set about goggling them, trying to find out a little more information, googling, inevitably, led me to Trade Me (NZ's eBay), which inevitably led me to purchasing 3 bulk lots of vintage, mainly 1950's, patterns, included amongst them some Academy ones (although no Academy's quite as swoon worthy as the 1940's one Sherry is 'whipping' up).

I have an insane number of patterns in my stash, it would take me years to make them all up, and so it the time has come that I must part with some of them in order to justify this morning's splurge. Over the next week or so I am going to be listing the patterns here for sale, they will range in price from free to $5.00 (New Zealand Dollar) plus any applicable postage costs.

I am happy to ship anywhere in the world (this is untracked though at buyers own risk), and happy to combine postage to save you money too. As I am listing them over a period of time, if you would like to wait until all the patterns are listed, before finalising your 'order' just in case something else pops up that you cannot live with out, then that is a-okay too!

The reason I am listing them here, and not on Etsy, or Trade Me, is because I want to be able to sell them for a fair amount, by which I mean an amount which is fair to me (I HAVE been storing them more many years, they have to earn their keep right?) and fair to you. Listing fees, gallery fees, success fees/commissions just consume any money I may make on them, I could factor these costs into the price I sell them for, but then you end up paying more, and you don't really want that now do you?

So, the first lot of patterns up for grabs are a few shirt dress styles, mainly from the 70's. Sizes vary as I tend to buy based on style figuring I can grade up/down as required.

Butterick 3415 Size C (cut to a size 12) - complete NZD$2.50 + postage
Loose fitting dress 3 inches below mid knee with purchased shoulder pads has self or contrast pointed collar and all-in-one, fly front buttoned closing, welt pocket, elasticised waistline, side seam pockets, full length sleeves gathered at cap and into contrast buttoned cuffs with continuous lap opening or short sleeves gathered at cap. Purchased belt.

Vogue Very Easy Vogue 9770 circa 1979 size 12 1/2 - complete NZD$2.00 + postage
Half-Size Dress. Loose-fitting dress, three inches below mid-knee, has pointed collar, rounded front neckline slit, pockets in side seams and back zipper closing. Raglan sleeves are above-elbow length with turn-back cuffs or full-length gathered into buttoned cuffs. With or without patch pockets with fold-back flap and button trim. Self tie belt holds in fullness at waistline. Top stitching.

Loose-fitting dress, three inches below mid-knee, has pointed collar and band all in one, front buttoned band closings side seam pockets, full length raglan sleeves with turned back cuffs or short raglan  sleeves and self tie belt. Top stitch trim.

Loose-fitting and flared dress three inches mid knee and without side seams. Has shaped collar-on-band with self necktie, front buttoned closing, front gathered into forward shoulder seam, elasticized waistline and short or full length sleeves gathered into shaped buttoned cuffs with or without continuous lap opening. Purchased belt.

Loose fitting dress 10cmbelow mid knee with side seam pocket and top have shaped band collar, front band opening, shirt tail hemline, self tie belt, dropped shoulders and either full length sleeves gathered into buttoned cuffs or three quarter length rolled up sleeves. Top stitching. Slightly A line skirt has elasticised waist

Style 3407 Size 14 uncut and complete NZD$2.50 + postage
All views have centre front zipper, waist seam and gored skirt. View one has long sleeves gathered into button fastening cuffs. View two has short sleeves.
